Mokhtar Hamzanlui Moghaddam, master mason and father to Edd. His dedication and craftsmanship laid not only bricks, but the foundations of MassCan Capital’s story.

Our Legacy

The name MassCan is inspired by “Maskan,” the Farsi and Arabic word for “home” a reminder of our promise to create spaces where people can truly belong.

At MassCan Capital, we believe real estate is about more than structures it’s about building futures, communities, and legacies that stand the test of time.

Our story begins with Mokhtar Hamzanlui Moghaddam, Edd’s father, a skilled mason whose hands laid the first bricks of a life defined by dedication, craftsmanship, and vision. His unwavering commitment to quality and family inspires every decision we make today.

Guided by this legacy, we established MassCan Capital in 2023 to tackle one of the most urgent challenges of our time: the growing shortage of attainable housing across the country. Rising construction costs, high interest rates, and limited supply have made it harder than ever for hardworking families - especially those earning between 60% and 140% of the area median income (AMI) - to find homes near jobs, schools, and reliable transit, particularly in eastern New England.

We specialize in developing projects that honor history while creating new opportunities for growth and revitalization. From transforming historic mills to delivering quality housing for the backbone of our communities, our focus is on thoughtful, sustainable development that strengthens neighborhoods and builds futures for generations to come.

MassCan Capital is proudly rooted in a tradition of perseverance and integrity - and driven by a clear mission: to expand access to homes that enrich lives, respect communities, and stand the test of time.
